John was in prison and sent his disciples to ask of Jesus if He was the coming Christ or should they be looking for another? Today is no different when we ask the question "are you sent from God to us, and how do we know?". We search for the authentic, real and powerful experience that God gives, yet how do we know its the real deal?
In this culture of titles, labels and self promotion: apostle cloud, prophet wind, pastor river etc through social media and popular movements, I ask the same question.
I love what Jesus said in reply to this question. In the gospel of Matthew 11: 1- 6, notice Jesus did not say " how dare you question my authority and origin. I am truly the divine God sent to set you free." He humbly replied "the things which you hear and see: the blind see, and the lame walk, the leapers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me"
It is with humility you will recognise: see and hear the person our heavenly Father chooses to bring into your life. Jesus paid a visit to His hometown of Nazareth and preached with great authority, wisdom sharing testimonies of the great works the Father was doing in His ministry. Matthew 13: 53- 58 further accounts that Jesus could do no mighty works among them because they did not honour Him as sent by GOD. INFACT, IT GOES ONTO SAY THEY WERE ACTUALLY OFFENDED AT HIM. Nothing will shut down the flow of heaven and the working of miracles faster than the spirit of offence.
Guard against offences by humbling yourself, 1 PETER 5:6 humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.
2 Tim 2: 20-26 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honour, and some for dishonour. Therefore if any one cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honour, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in HUMILITY correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
You will know the authenticity of Gods sent one by the works. are the blind seeing? are the lame walking? are the leapers cleansed? do the deaf hear? is the gospel preached and the poor set free? let me break it down to you. Does the ministry or person you are listening to have these evident displays of grace upon or in them. Does the spiritually blind have their eyes opened, and begin to receive revelation form heaven. Do the deaf of hearing Gods voice now begin to hear clearly what the spirit of the Lord is saying to them? Are those who are not fellowshipping and disjointed in the body restored into fellowship and become useful vessels of honour in the church? Are those who have been contaminated with the world cleansed and washed from carnal living having their minds renewed and transformed? Are souls being snatched out of the kingdom of darkness, and translated into the kingdom of light, the dead now come to life? Are the poor, those on centerlink, government handouts, jobless receiving the gospel that breaks poverty providing jobs, and opportunities for increase and blessings. Are people in this ministry overcomer, resisting offences, walking in forgiveness and flowing in Love?
Your level of honour will determine the amount of grace you receive from the gift of God that is flowing in a persons life. Much Honour much grace, little honour little grace.
Matthew 10:41 Jesus said He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophets reward. The home town of Nazareth received Jesus as a carpenter, brother and friend, therefor receiving the carpenters, brother friend reward. If they had of honoured Him as the Christ, they would have received the reward of Christ with all the mighty miracles that were available to them.
Remember, HONOUR IS THE EXCHANGE RATE AND CURRENCY BOOSTER OF HEAVEN.
