I’m not a grasshopper, and neither are you.
The 12 spies sent to spy out the promised land, saw, experienced and returned to give Moses their report. How is it that 10 out of the 12 had a negative experience?
Your perception plays a huge part on your ability in how you see things you experience.
Numbers 13:27 This was their report to Moses: "We entered the land you sent us to explore, and it is indeed a bountiful country-a land flowing with milk and honey. Here is the kind of fruit it produces.
Caleb full of vision, faith, had tasted the goodness of the land, had for tasted his inheritance and said
Numbers 13:30 NLT
But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. "Let's go at once to take the land," he said. "We can certainly conquer it!"
The other 10 were unable to perceive a victorious outcome to go and possess the land. It had everything to do with perception. They disqualified themselves from their inheritance because of the perception of themselves.
Numbers 13:31-33 But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. "We can't go up against them! They are stronger than we are!" [32] So they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites: "The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw were huge. [33] We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak. Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that's what they thought, too!"
Only you can determine who you’ll be. A visionary Christian or a circumstantial Christian.
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish:
The circumstantial Christian changes their purpose based on circumstances. They’ll say things like, God told me to go to this church or live in a city or town but give the excuse why they can’t obey God. They’ll say things I like I don’t have enough money, or there is no work in that town so I can’t go. The devil will always make sure the circumstances are never right for the Christian, get you offended, sick, or offended on behalf of someone else’s offence because it’s never an isolated circumstance.
Ecclesiastes 11:4 Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.
A visionary Christian will have a purpose that doesn’t change because of the circumstances. They believe God makes a way even when the circumstances are not in favour.
Notice the spies were the top leaders, warriors of each tribe. Its a sorry state of affairs when the leaders see themselves as grasshoppers, what hope does the general public have?
We have a mandate to dispossess the giants of circumstances, that dwell in our promised land. And like Caleb we are more than able, with God all things are possible. Hear is a 🕵️♀️ clue. Gods vision will always have Gods provision. He will have the right people, right places, right opportunity, right favour, when we decide that we are visionary Christian’s not circumstantial Christian’s . In other words you are not grasshoppers .
