What’s a miracle ??

I’ve been asking Jesus why do people get fixated on getting a miracle instead of His word?? As if a miracle is the only answer God has for people.

Workings of miracles is a gift of Holy Spirit. These gifts are given to members of the body to function in as the Spirit wills.

1 Corinthians 12:9-11 NKJV

[9] to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, [10] to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. [11] But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

My question is why put faith in a miracle ( which in my opinion only isn’t faith, it’s wishing or hoping Gods sovereignty will override unbelief and move with compassion to release a supernatural outcome called a miracle) when the answer is in His WORD.

Jesus said if you have faith as small as a mustard seed you could speak to the problem and it would obey.

Luke 17:6 NKJV So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.

Jesus also said Matthew 7:24 NKJV 24 "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:

25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

But then He also said

Luke 8:48 NKJV

[48] And He said to her, "Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace."

The daughter had faith to touch the hem of His garment to receive her healing. How did she get the faith to believe if she touched His hem, she would be healed? Did she read a book? Did she hear preaching ?? Did she binge watch Netflix?? Spend her days gaming ?? Or begging God for a miracle ??

Romans 10:17 NKJV

[17] So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Mark 6:56 NKJV

[56] Wherever He entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged Him that they might just touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made well.

She had consistently heard about people touching his hem and getting healed, until it made her move with faith.

Did Jesus say to the disciples to go to the other side of the lake?? Mark 4:35 NKJV On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side."

If Jesus said they were going to the other side, why did they think they were going to drown??

Their faith wasn’t in the WORD it was on the circumstances.

Mark 4:38,40-41 NKJV

[38] But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" [40] But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?" [41] And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!"

I know miracles happen, but I’m not going to rely on a miracle for lack of diligence.

We have to be specific in what we are believing. If your desperate for a miracle, and someone has convinced you that God will give you that miracle , your faith is misplaced. Your faith is on the person who is convinced.

I read a book about pain free childbirth before I had babies. I thought that’s what I want. I was convinced that was going to be my testimony. I put my faith in that book. Books a great information but it wasn’t Gods WORD in my own heart.

Your Faith in HIS WORD is the focus, not faith in someone else’s walk with God.

Galatians 3:5 NKJV

[5] Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?-

If we have not heard for ourselves what God said about our need, we cannot presume we have faith just because we know He can do miracles. Even the demons believe !!!

James 2:19-20 NKJV

[19] You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! [20] But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

Blind Bart called out to Jesus Matthew 9:28-29 NKJV And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." [29] Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith let it be to you."

You cannot make up a Word, that’s ridiculous. There is no power in made up words, or the wisdom of man. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 NKJV 4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, [5] that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

Do you really believe??? And exactly what are you believing ??? Do you know which WORD you need from God?? Is it written ???

If Jesus had to stand on the WORD then so do we.. it’s just what word do you need for the promise you are believing God for. It’s a confronting question. Believing is something that’s in your heart.

You can only walk in your light, not someone else.

1 John 1:7 NKJV But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Light is revelation knowledge. If you are trying to walk in someone else’s light you may find yourself stumbling. You cannot live in someone else’s faith. You don’t know what price it took for them to have revelation or faith to live the life they are living. They may be able to pray for you, stand with you and even possibly move in the gifts. Your faith is what will produce results, not someone else’s.

I have witnessed miracles, I’ve also been used by Holy Spirit in the gifts of healings and miracles. This does not replace my own individual walk with God, to renew my mind and press in for revelation and more light to walk in. I’d rather be spiritual, obedient and walk in His sayings before any storm hits. Better to build my life on the rock (

the sayings of Jesus) than on the sand ( neglect the sayings of Jesus)

Philippians 2:12-16 NKJV

[12] Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; [13] for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. [14] Do all things without complaining and disputing, [15] that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, [16] holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
