You are needed, vital, and very much part of the plan of God on this Earth. Don't let the devil talk you into insignificance!
The best way to know your value is to be used by God, knowing you're in His perfect will for your life.
"See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is." Ephesians 5:15-17 NKJV
How can we know how valuable we are if we casually visit God’s house when we feel like it? No wonder the devil can blow God’s children over with a soft puff of thoughts like, 'you're no good', or 'God has no use for you'.
A family unit is strong when they spend time together, and the same goes for the Body of Christ.
It’s in the Body of Christ that we discover our value, not outside in the world. Yes the world needs your salt and light, but a disconnected light is just a bulb. Salt that’s lost its saltiness is useless for preserving.
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:25 NKJV
"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful." Psalm 1:1 NKJV
How much time do you spend in the Body of Christ? Have you invested your time, money, emotions, skill, wisdom and understanding into His Body? No one invests without knowing there will be a genuine return on the investment. So why do we think that our help, which comes from God, will be available to us when we have not invested?
A casual Sunday Christian will not make it through in the end days. Let me try to awaken the wise. It’s time to invest in oil and pursue the Will of God. Invest in oil and you’ll have enough for the midnight hour when it’s time.
"Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. "And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.' "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming." Matthew 25:1-13 NKJV
Go buy your own oil. It’s an investment!
What do you do when you invest? Firstly, you consider the dividends. What are dividends? A dividend is a distribution of profits by a corporation to its shareholders. Dividends are only paid when there is a profit, not loss.
What does it profit to invest into the kingdom?
"For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come." 1 Timothy 4:8 NKJV
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16 NKJV
Secondly, we should consider the end payout. What is the end of your investment?
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works." Matthew 16:26 NKJV
Thirdly, we consider the risk.
"Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, 'This man began to build and was not able to finish'? Luke 14:25,28-30 NKJV
You could loose everything?
Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?" But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Then Peter answered and said to Him, "See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?" So Jesus said to them, "Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first." Matthew 19:23-30 NKJV
And finally, you consider the sacrifice. Can you make the hard choices that will enable you to invest? Are you prepared to forgo the immediate in order to obtain the goal, or destination?
What have you had to lay aside to choose the investment? Personal comfort? Personal wants?A yearly holiday? What is the cost the Lord has asked of you? Is it to fast, or pray?
Have you considered your schedule? For instance, the Lord refreshes, refires, even miraculously turns situations for your good and you get on fire. You begin to receive, like a river, every time you're in a meeting. Then after a while the river drys up and it becomes boring again. What happened? Did you make the adjustments in your schedule to maintain the fire? Have you considered the cost, or what it will take to pursue your purpose.
Rapping up, YOU are called and graced for Kingdom purpose. The King of Kings is calling people to duty, to attend their posts. If not you, He will use someone else.
Church isn’t a free choice for family weekend entertainment. It’s a family established in truth, that transforms community. And just as God chose Abraham to build a nation that would represent God to the nations of the world, He has chosen you the church.
A city on a hill cannot be hidden. It becomes a light to the world. A light that has been plugged into the main source, not just a light bulb.
