A casual approach to Gods Word, His church, His instructions will result in casual strength when the devil throws his best at you.
Why is it some people only get serious when the battle is serious?? They call for help, “pastor please pray for me” in such desperation. I wonder if that situation that arose may have been thwarted by a continual commitment of prioritising their faith and church community instead of casually attending when only convenient for them. “Oh but pastor I’m tired from work, I’m not feeling well, my car won’t go, the children have sport,” excuse after excuse. I can’t count the number of times we arrange a strength building, Holy Ghost bible study that is designed to fortify your faith to receive a call, “oh I can’t make it this week, something has come up”. Let me tell you that the devil will always have something come up !!!! No wonder the devil just has to softly blow and they topple.
In my 25 years walking with the Lord I’ve noticed that strong faith requires a strong determined uncompromising plan. That person will arrange their life around spiritual priorities. If there is a meeting, prayer, service, gathering what ever the church is doing, they make that the schedule. The other things in life take second place. That person is blessed, and will not be easily pushed around by the devil with his sick demons of disease and depression.
Unless you make the Word, and gathering together, your commitment no matter the excuse you’ll be a pushover to the devil, and your life will reflect the ocean currents. You’ll make appointments with the doctor hairdresser beauty place, friends yet when it comes to your spiritual needs, any excuse the devil throws is accepted!
It’s time to wake up to the devils devices and resist his influence over you. James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Your passion, love, priorities, and devotion to God will determine the level of commitment, and faithfulness to dig deep, run after, forsaking all other distractions, not just when the poo is hitting the fan. The challenge is to stay in pursuit when highly blessed, healthy, favoured and all is going well.
I pray for a continual fanning, that your fire 🔥 will grow. I don’t want to settle for less, how about you? can you come up another level ? Are you willing to embrace the unknown, unseen things of God to obtain the higher path. Today is a great day to ask the Holy Spirit to deposit a hunger and love for the Word that it be the first place to turn for wisdom, comfort, help, peace and all the other great benefits like healing, revelation, power, discernment etc…..
Matthew 13:44"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Deuteronomy 8:10-18 When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you. [11] "Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, [12] lest-when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; [13] and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; [14] when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; [15] who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock; [16] who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end- [17] then you say in your heart, 'My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.' [18] "And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
I love how Jesus doesn’t have to go about saying he is a prophet, he just operates as one. Notice Jesus responds to a thought, it wasn’t even a spoken question just a thought !!!
Luke 7:39-40 Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, "This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner." [40] And Jesus answered and said to him, "Simon, I have something to say to you." So he said, "Teacher, say it."
Let the Lord deal with your internal excuses and set you on fire today. There is no better day on earth than today to give your life to Jesus. Just pray out loud, heavenly Father
“I believe Jesus Died and rose from death that I may have life eternal” today I give my life in exchange for this gift of eternal like. Help me to follow you Jesus fill me with the Holy Spirit and power to live my new life in You today. Thank you for turning my life around. I am now a newly born child of God , show me Father where I need to plant myself in your church “
