Casual faith casual results

A casual approach to Gods Word, His church, His instructions will result in casual strength when the devil throws his best at you.
Why is it some people only get serious when the battle is serious?? They call for help, “pastor please pray for me” in such desperation. I wonder if that situation that arose may have been thwarted by a continual commitment of prioritising their faith and church community instead of casually attending when only convenient for them. “Oh but pastor I’m tired from work, I’m not feeling well, my car won’t go, the children have sport,” excuse after excuse.
