Beautiful one : ever been jealous? Or been around a jealous person ? We look at it as a negative useless emotion, but who knows that God is very resourceful and uses jealousy to provoke. Where do you get provoked?
Romans 11:11,14 NKJV
[11] I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. [14] if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.
I am not jealous by material things, however I’ve been subject to this type of provoke when I see the anointing or wisdom or a really good well put together preach !!! It makes me say I WANT THAT !!!
God has chosen you to provoke to jealousy that at least some may be saved. By His blessings in your life you’ll provoke others to jealousy. Your peace, your breakthroughs, your answered prayer, your new car perhaps !!! Don’t be surprised if God will use you to provoke someone today that will make them want Him.
God is jealous over you, and can be provoked. The Israelites were called adulterous by going after other gods. Paul warns about going after a different Jesus. 2 Corinthians 11:2-4 For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. [3] But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. [4] For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted-you may well put up with it!
Spiritual adultery is going after a different Jesus a false gospel. Jesus warns us about this as we are approaching the end day.
Matthew 24:23 “Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it.
Spiritual adultery is making friends with the world.
James 4:4-5 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. [5] Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"?
The pull of the world is real, as the Apostle Paul experience when he was abandoned by Demas.
2 Timothy 4:10-11 NKJV
[10] for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica-Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia. [11] Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry.
We can either provoke God, or provoke people. I’d rather stay on the good side of God, and allow Him to use me to provoke others. My prayer today for you and I is that our life be so blessed it solicits a jealous response in others to turn from spiritual adultery and the love of the world and give their lives over to Jesus Christ the risen Son of God, redeemer, and soon coming King, for their eternal salvation of their soul.
