Non negotiable

Do you have non negotiables?

There are some boundaries I’ve placed on my life that are not negotiable.

The stand you are required to have is backed up by this principle of having a non negotiable line.

Ephesians 6:13 KJV

[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

My stand on honouring God first is a non negotiable. How does that practically work ??? I decided Sunday service for me was a non negotiable all the way back in 1995 all those years ago… have I missed some Sunday’s ? Yes there was a season where the winds blew, my non negotiable was being challenged. Disappointment, doubt, and career, money, children, security, belonging, marriage all at once raged war at me…

The storm passed, I was still in church. This is where some end up shipwrecked. With the pressure of any storm we still have choices, and the non negotiable will keep you on firm ground even when all around doesn’t make sense.

I remember asking a pastor where will they go to church while on long service leave.. I was thinking from my perspective how exciting it would be to visit other church’s to see what the Lord is doing elsewhere. To my surprise he responded saying “oh I’m not going to any church it’s my time off, why would I want to go to church on my time off??? “

Red flags 🚩 as I checked my heart to not judge… and hireling was the first word that popped into my mind.

A person who serves for money … flees when they see the wolf and allows the flock to be devoured.

John 10:12-13 KJV

[12] But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. [13] The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

I’m just saying that God has set His plan the Church on this earth as His dwelling. Separating yourself from the body should be a non negotiable in my opinion.

Yes I missed a few Sundays and that was my choice. The cost of that choice caused me to miss what the Lord had for me those Sunday’s.

Placing a non negotiable on my Sunday’s has helped me to rearrange, stand firm and flourish in His purpose.

Psalm 92:13-15 KJV

[13] Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. [14] They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; [15] To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Even when we were on family holidays, we looked forward to attending service… it became a non negotiable.

Today there is still no other place I’d rather be on a Sunday. The Lord has been faithful and will continue until we are called up in the cloud to meet Him !!! Oh what a glorious day
