Own Company

Did you know your Father in Heaven gives you people that are called your own company? When times are tough, your company will be there for you, just as Peter and John’s were.

"And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them". Acts 4:23 KJV

After being held captive and interrogated by the religious authorities, Peter and John were released.

Do you have a company? One that you know will stand and pray with you? One you can share the struggle with, as Peter and John did?

Father's plan is for His Church to be a company where we can belong. Where we are strengthened and supported as we run our race on this earth. The problem with modern culture is a lack of understanding for the role our church community plays in the life of a believer.

I’m still dumbfounded when believers only choose church when it’s convenient, or when life is falling apart.

I’ve seen the Lord begin to restore, bless and establish individuals with such amazing breakthrough testimonies. Then after a while, if they don't take responsibility for their own faith, and they refuse to grow, they begin to attend church less and less.

Some choose church based on what they get, rather than what they can contribute. If church doesn’t do what they want, they may allow an attitude that's extremely self destructive and leads to shipwrecked faith. The problem is they may not realise, until their life falls apart again.

A revelation of church is different to a revelation of the Word of God. We can listen to multiple podcasts and study the Bible for endless hours, but if we don’t have a company where we belong, our Christian walk is limited.

"From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love". Ephesians 4:16 NKJV

Just like a good marriage, we multiply and are blessed when we find our company. Good marriages take effort, time, attention, affection, forgiveness, joy, intimacy, and fresh food. Just like a great company, we cannot experience a great church without putting in our part; affection, forgiveness, time, joy, fellowship, and fresh food.

"For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church." Ephesians 5:30-32 NKJV

Do you see a good marriage when the partner's are unfaithful? How can we expect our church experience to be fulfilling if we are unfaithful? Or even worse, committing adultery? Your company becomes your OWN company through faithfulness, loyalty, trust and commitment. That sounds like love to me.

"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NKJV
